Students will be doing an introduction to jazz from the time periods of Ragtime, Dixieland, and Swing (Big Band).
- They will have lecture notes in class. The notes will be from a handout that they fill out in class. If a student misplaces his handout or is absent from class, he may get them from the button below.
- They will do a web quest (found on this website under the 8th Grade Music tab) to extend their learning of 1 of 3 jazz musicians. The culmination of the web quest will be a radio show that they create using the information they gather from class and the web quest.
- They will possibliy attend a BGSU jazz band rehearsal. They will take notes on what they observe at the rehearsal.
- They will take a 50 point test the last day of the quarter over the notes from class and all of the different radio shows that were presented.
